Pawan Kumar Chandana, Co-Founder and CEO of Skyroot Aerospace, was recognized with the Voice&Data Telecom Leadership Pathbreaker Award 2025 for helping build India’s gateway to the connected space economy.

The recognition highlights Chandana’s role in advancing private launch capabilities at a time when satellite communications, broadband connectivity and IoT networks are becoming critical parts of India’s digital infrastructure.

For decades, access to space remained largely the preserve of national agencies and a small number of global launch providers. But as satellite networks become increasingly important to communications, broadband and IoT services, the ability to place payloads into orbit has become a strategic capability. It is within this context that Chandana has helped redefine India’s role in the commercial space ecosystem.
