Valve’s Steam Frame Launches At $1,059 With A Sweet Half-Life: Alyx Bonus
Valve's highly anticipated Steam Frame standalone VR headset is finally here after being revealed alongside the new Steam Controller and Steam Machine back in November.
The Steam Frame has launched with two models (one with 256GB of onboard UFS storage and one with 1TB) and, similar to the Steam Machine, is being initially offered with preorder waiting list lottery to prevent scalping. This also helps manage what is presumably a limited supply of Steam Frame headsets, as well.
For those who may not be aware, one of the Steam Frame's biggest selling points actually relates to the future of not only VR gaming, but the ever-blurring line between PC and console gaming. The Steam Frame's native gaming capabilities extend to Windows games despite being based on a mainstream Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which was common for last-gen mid-range and high-end Android phones.
