V-Control's V-SoM Delivers Easy Prototyping for Power Electronics — Along with a Path to Production
Italian startup V-Control is preparing to launch a crowdfunding campaign for a system-on-module designed to provide an accessible platform for the development and testing of power electronic converter designs: the V-SoM.
"Power-electronics development often requires much more than the control algorithm itself," V-Control's Federico Campanelli and Stefano Savio say of their company's creation. "Deterministic PWM [Pulse-Width Modulation] and ADC [Analog to Digital Converter] acquisition, communication with a host PC, real-time parameter tuning, data logging, and a practical path from simulation to hardware. V-SoM was created to provide this infrastructure as a reusable module, so the same controller can be used across multiple converter and motor-drive projects without redesigning the control platform each time."

The V-Som itself is based around the STMIcroelectronics STM32H755 dual-core heterogeneous microcontroller, giving...
