Edtech company upGrad has appointed Mukesh Mundra as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as the company prepares for its proposed acquisition of Unacademy and sharpens focus on financial consolidation.
Mundra joins the Ronnie Screwvala-led startup from JioStar, where he served as head of finance. Before that, he spent more than eight years as CFO at Viacom18, leading financial strategy and transformation initiatives.
A chartered accountant and CFA, Mundra brings more than 26 years of experience across telecom, media, manufacturing, and consumer businesses. Earlier in his career, he worked with Idea Cellular, Grasim Industries, and Anand Rathi Group. At Idea Cellular, he was involved in the Spice Communications transaction and the formation of the Indus Towers joint venture.
