Private Internet Access (PIA) has just announced network infrastructure updates rolling out across parts of its system, and is asking users to update their apps to get the full benefit.
The changes are less about flashy new features and more about the plumbing: routing, capacity, and the day-to-day reliability of staying connected. PIA says the latest app versions include logic built to work with the upgraded backend as it rolls out region by region.
The announcement comes after a long quiet period from PIA. It has been since 2024 that the provider hasn't released a substantial app update.
