Both stalled on direction. One stopped; the other chose a narrower test.
Two founders, both stuck, both confronting whether to continue. Different years, but the same underlying question. One shut his company down. One decided to keep going. On the evidence each had, both decisions were defensible.
The first founder ran a SaaS for three years and generated $412K in total revenue. Peak MRR was $18K; by the end, it had fallen to $6.2K. He had spent $48K on marketing across ads, content, and agencies. Nothing was dramatically wrong — which is exactly what made the decision hard.
