US President Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson will meet tech chief executives to discuss artificial intelligence on Tuesday, 29 September, Axios reported the plans on Thursday, citing a source familiar with them.
A source also confirmed the date to Reuters, while ABC News said multiple people familiar with the arrangements had described the meeting to it.
No outlet has named the companies taking part or published an agenda, and we have not independently verified the reports.
The White House did not immediately respond when ABC News asked about the meeting.
Johnson has been asking for a gathering of this kind for weeks. In mid-September, he said he would recall the House only if there was a solution to vote on. Before that, he wanted a summit with the president, leaders of Congress and the heads of the major labs.
