If anyone was in any doubt about Trump 2.0’s position on the AI slowdown calls from Anthropic, OpenAi and others this week, President Donald Trump has left no room for debate, railing against the statements from the likes of Dario Amodei with a stream of attacks, innuendo and implied threats.

While this administration got underway in January last year with Big Tech leaders cowed into submission and bankrolling the inauguration and more, the honeymoon is clearly over, certainly as far as the new frontier model firms that until recently were being so assiduously courted are concerned.

You can hardly have missed the background here, but just to re-cap, Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei had a Pauline conversion on the road to AI Damascus over the weekend whereby he reversed his previous laissez fairestance...
