Traditional SEO Is Dead - Long Live GEO
Traditional SEO, as we have known over the last three decades, is effectively dead. This is borne out by the fact that experts reckon that the $80 billion SEO market is on its last legs. What is slated to replace it instead is Generative Engine Optimization or GEO. In place of using traditional search bars, consumers increasingly feed their queries into chat boxes on platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity. More and more, we are seeing the rise and domination of an AI-propelled system of search that brands would do well to adopt at the earliest, unless they want to be consigned to oblivion.
