Track Weather Anywhere with WeatherXM’s New Solar-Powered LoRa Station
Consumer-grade weather stations are pretty sophisticated these days. Many models are capable of measuring everything from rainfall to UV levels. But getting those measurements back from a remote location can still be a problem. Wi-Fi obviously doesn't help when the nearest access point is miles away, while cellular connectivity requires both coverage and an ongoing service plan. WeatherXM's new D2 Mesh solves this problem by sending data over a LoRa mesh network.
The WeatherXM D2 Mesh is a complete off-grid weather station kit built to work with Meshtastic and MeshCore. The device measures temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, rainfall, wind speed and direction, gusts, light, solar radiation, and UV levels. An SX1262 LoRa transceiver then sends those observations over distances of several kilometers under good line-of-sight conditions. By making multiple hops, transmissions can go even further.
