Since the third quarter of 2025, a plethora of enterprise technology vendors have released observability and governance platforms as they respond to the struggle CIOs are having with containing AI token costs, governance, and the cyber security risks that visiting bots pose. Nutanix is the latest with its Agent Gateway, released last week.

Nutanix pitches the new Agent Gateway technology, which is now generally available, as a central control point for AI agent governance, providing secure access to enterprise AI tools and monitoring token consumption. The release comes as part of the Nutanix Enterprise AI 2.7 release. The aim is to provide the enterprise with a central way to manage business-wide interactions with AI agents, Large Language Models (LLMs), and the wider estate of enterprise applications that agents will be moving between in just the same way as employees do.
