This Retro Wi-Fi Landline Phone Is My Daughter’s New Best Friend

Do you know what a Tin Can phone is? A few months ago, my answer would’ve been no. Since then, a whole new world has opened up to my 7-year-old daughter, all thanks to a simple Wi-Fi-enabled landline phone.

Throughout my parenting experience, I’ve had plenty of WTF moments about what kids do for fun. Parents worry that excessive screen time and a lack of in-person social activities can negatively affect safety and development. I’m on the internet daily, so I see what’s out there.

Roughly a year ago, my daughter started talking about wanting an iPhone. This prompted a heated discussion between us, and then a panicked conversation with my wife behind closed doors. We knew the day would come.

Then this cute little pink-and-orange Tin Can phone with a curly cord appeared in our living room.
