This $300 Minimalist Flip Phone Could Help You Avoid Scrolling and AI

If you're annoyed by the drive to constantly look at your smartphone but aren't ready to switch to a "dumbphone," here's an in-between option: the Light Flip phone. Launched by the makers of the Light Phone on Tuesday, this minimalist clamshell phone targets people who want a device with navigation, basic audio entertainment, and calendar access, but without a distractingly app-heavy interface. It's not a flip phone of yore, but it's not a smartphone replacement, either.
The $300 Light Flip has a 2.8-inch OLED display with a 480 by 640 resolution, a physical keypad, a D-pad, and side buttons. (Notice the lack of touch controls.) Inside, it's got a replaceable 1,800mAh battery, 126GB of storage, and 6GB of RAM, and it offers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, 3.5mm headphone, nano-SIM, and eSIM connectivity. Its only camera is a 50mm rear sensor.
