These Wireless Earbuds Are Small Enough to Disappear Into Your Ear
Commercial wireless earbuds already pack Bluetooth radios, rechargeable batteries, charging circuitry, and miniature speakers into housings that almost disappear into your ears. YouTuber Penguin DIY wondered just how much smaller they could become. Could they truly fit entirely inside your ear canal? To find out, he dismantled an existing pair of Bluetooth earbuds and rebuilt them into custom "invisible" earphones small enough to sit deep inside the ear canal.
The project begins with a teardown of a donor pair of true wireless stereo earbuds. The plastic housings are opened to expose the tiny circuit boards, lithium-polymer batteries, speaker drivers, and charging hardware hidden inside. With the electronics removed, the next challenge is figuring out how to rearrange everything into a package with even less available space.
