These cheap open earbuds are so good for the money, they had me wondering why you’d spend more on expensive rivals from Shokz and Bose

The Baseus Bowie MC2 are cheap cuff-style earbuds that do all you need for the level. They sit well around (and on) your ear, keep playing for a long time, and offer sound that’s not especially refined but is certainly bassy. Some corners have been cut, particularly in the charging case department, but the only real drawback is that you’re missing some of the more premium features offered by higher-end rivals — for a significant surcharge.

Pros

  • +Affordable price point
  • +Refreshingly bass-heavy sound
  • +Comfortable to wear

Cons

  • -Some charging case problems
  • -Not for audiophiles
  • -Hard-to-use touch controls
