The ThinkNode M9 Keeps You Connected Off-Grid

If you spend a lot of time hiking or exploring remote areas, a smartphone isn’t the best way to stay connected. Once the nearest cell tower is a few miles away, it won’t be of much use. LoRa mesh networks offer an alternative solution by allowing nearby devices to pass messages between one another without cellular service or internet access. But many of these systems still rely on a smartphone for typing messages and displaying information, which means you have another device to carry, charge, and connect.

Elecrow’s new ThinkNode M9 takes the phone out of the equation. It is a standalone MeshCore communication terminal that looks a bit like a BlackBerry from an alternate timeline where LoRa replaced cellular networks.
