According to a growing chorus of technologists, investors, and AI enthusiasts, agentic artificial intelligence will fundamentally reshape enterprise software. In this vision, intelligent agents become the primary interface between people and technology.
Rather than opening applications, navigating menus, and executing workflows, users simply state their intent while AI agents determine which systems to access, gather the necessary information, and perform the required tasks.
It is a compelling theory. It is also probably wrong.
