The power of your own opinion - how SAP CEO Christian Klein is riding out the evolving AI transition to meet customer needs
Sometimes it's good to have your own opinion, your own vision, your own strategy, and not just follow what everyone tells you.
That’s a point of view that probably won’t come as to much of a surprise to hear for anyone who’s tracked Christian Klein’s performance as CEO of SAP over the past six years, during which time the firm has moved through its cloud transition and into the AI era.
It’s that last move to which Klein is alluding when he spoke at this week’s Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, telling an anecdote to the effect that:
There were people in my Supervisory Board who told me three years ago, ‘Let's bet the whole company on OpenAI. Then everyone told me, ’Let's bet the whole company on Anthropic’. And now we are so happy that we have a model switching [strategy] where we can switch the model within...
