As traffic congestion worsens across India’s major cities, young office workers may have reason to hope that the daily commute will no longer define working life. New research by the International Workplace Group has revealed that working patterns will continue to undergo major change over the next 25 years, with nearly seven in 10 HR leaders (69%) and employees (68%) believing that long daily commutes and the traditional 9-to-5 workday will no longer exist by 2050. This shift will be driven by employees’ ability to work closer to home and from a wider range of professional workspace locations.
