The New Translucent Xbox Series X Reminds Us of the OG 'Crystal' Xbox Editions
During its 2026 Xbox Games Showcase this weekend, Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console and Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition to celebrate the system's 25th anniversary. The new hardware, reminiscent of the Crystal Xbox variations released in 2004, shares the same specs as the standard Xbox Series X but features a nostalgic look.
The Xbox Series X25 chassis is a translucent "OG green" and displays a special 25th anniversary badge. The Xbox button on the console lights up green in "a nod to the original XBOX start up."
The X25 Special Edition controller matches the console with its translucent green casing. Forgoing the black ABXY buttons found on modern controllers, this edition brings back Xbox's original colorful ABXY buttons.
