There is a strange kind of milestone that only becomes visible in hindsight. It’s the moment a technology stops being impressive and starts being fun.

Deliberately Bad, Wildly Popular
Over the past several weeks, a prompt has been spreading across social media like a benign virus. People are uploading their photos to ChatGPT and asking it to redraw them in “the most clumsy, scribbly, and pathetic way possible.” The instruction is basically “make this look like an eight-year-old drew it in MS Paint during a long car ride.”
The results are catastrophic in the most hilarious best way. Faces turn into lopsided ovals with dot eyes. Family portraits become chaotic arrangements of squiggly lines and Microsoft’s most cursed color palette. Beloved pets are reduced to four-legged blobs with what might generously be called tails.
