The Long-Rumored Foldable iPhone Is Real. Meet the iPhone Duo
Apple has announced its first foldable phone, and despite early rumors that it'd be named the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, it's called the iPhone Duo.
The book-style device features a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen that mimics frosted glass when the phone is actively being opened and closed. Both screens use Super Retina XDR panels and support ProMotion refresh rates (up to 120Hz). Apple says the broader inner display lets users run two apps side by side.
The iPhone Duo's form factor closely matches Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8, making it a worthy competitor. But Apple's foldable boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, while Samsung's has an inferior IP48 rating.
