Good and bad for Klarna
Klarna hasn’t had a great week. Shares plummeted more than 22% on reduced full-year revenue projections and the announcement of two high-profile exec losses, in the shape of Chief Financial Officer Niclas Neglén and Chief Marketing Officer David Sandström, who will both exit the organization in early 2027. Klarna is reportedly looking for a New York-based candidate to take over as CFO.
But CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski is as emphatically undeterred as usual. To be fair, there are some wins worth pointing out - Klarna membership has reached 2 million paying subscribers, 8x a year ago, subscription revenue grew over 600%, and Klarna Card now boasts 6.5 million active users across 16 countries, up from 1.3 million a year ago.
