The Hidden Champion of Smart Homes Is Your Password Manager. Here's Why
I usually talk about the exciting new abilities smart homes have, like AI being able to describe your security videos to you, Alexa Plus ordering GrubHub or a radiant heater that fits on your wall like a painting. But there's one thing I don't talk about very often, but ties the entire smart home together, no matter how complex. I use my password manager constantly in testing, and you need to download one, too.
Password managers help you store, create and update passwords for everything from your smart home app logins and Wi-Fi to the codes for your home safes and smart lock keypads. They ensure passwords stay different and difficult for botnets to crack, plus you don't have to keep physical records of your passwords lying around. They're available everywhere from free browser extensions to low-cost apps you can download on your phone.
