The First Official ESPHome Starter Kit Launches Today
Smart home devices are popping up everywhere, but if you want automation that is as unique as you are, that means dealing with breadboards, soldering irons, coding, and configuration files. The new ESPHome Starter Kit was created to eliminate most of those barriers, giving beginners a way to build useful smart home hardware without soldering or writing a single line of code.
Designed by Apollo Automation in partnership with the Open Home Foundation, it is the first official starter kit for ESPHome. The system is built around the ESPHome C6 Board, which uses an Espressif ESP32-C6-MINI-1 module with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth LE, and Thread connectivity. The chip also supports Zigbee for advanced users. The board is powered over USB-C and also supports an optional rechargeable LiPo battery.
