Tata Communications, TTBS Pitch ‘AI in a Sachet’ to India’s SMBs
India’s small and medium businesses are not being asked to build foundation models, acquire graphics processing units, or assemble complex artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Tata Communications and Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) want them to buy a ready-to-use business outcome instead.
The two Tata companies have announced a strategic collaboration to bring an integrated AI platform to India’s small and medium business market. The proposition combines Tata Communications’ AI and cloud infrastructure with TTBS’s telecom capabilities, distribution network, and existing relationships with smaller businesses.
The companies are effectively betting that the next phase of AI adoption in India will not be driven only by large enterprises with sizable technology budgets. It could also come from businesses that want automation but lack the people, infrastructure, and capital required to build it themselves.
Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Communications, described the approach through an everyday consumer product: shampoo.
