Synology launches ActiveProtect Manager 2.0
APM 2.0 extends protection to Amazon EC2, Azure VM, Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV and Google Workspace. The update also enables workloads to be backed up and restored across different environments, supporting disaster recovery and workload migration.
The release expands backup destination support, with ActiveProtect Vault supporting additional Synology NAS models and Azure Blob Storage added as a copy and tiering target. Backups stored in Amazon S3 Storage or Azure Blob Storage can also be restored directly to Amazon EC2 or Azure VM environments.
APM 2.0 adds software-based volume-level storage encryption for data at rest.
