SumUp becomes Manchester United’s sleeve sponsor in the club’s biggest deal for that space
SumUp will appear on Manchester United shirt sleeves from Thursday under a multi-year deal that makes the London-based payments company the club’s official sleeve partner, replacing DXC Technology.
The logo goes on the men’s, women’s and academy shirts across all competitions, with matchday presence at Old Trafford and at the Progress with Unity Stadium.
Neither party disclosed what it costs, although City AM reports the figure at more than £20mn a year, a club record for the sleeve position and an increase on the £20mn a season DXC paid until last year.
For scale, that sits just under Arsenal’s sleeve arrangement with Deel, worth up to £25mn a year, and a long way beneath Real Madrid’s £60mn deal with HP.
