Suddenly, the Steam Machine's Price Isn't Buyers' Biggest Concern

Valve has alerted Steam Machine customers in Europe that a cyberattack on CEVA Logistics, its shipping partner, might have exposed their order details. The breached data includes customers' names, phone numbers, email addresses, delivery addresses, purchase details, and more, giving those who splurged on the pricey PC another thing to worry about beyond their budgets.

Valve says CEVA detected suspicious activity between July 29 and August 1 and later told Valve that attackers likely stole customer information, Bleeping Computer reports. The companies have not disclosed the number of affected Steam customers or the exact countries involved, nor has CEVA publicly identified the attackers, described their access method, or confirmed whether anyone has published or sold the data. That said, the attack also affected several European organizations linked to the logistics company, including Bol, De Bijenkorf, Ajax, ING, and Ace & Tate.
