SpaceX's Starship Reached Earth's Orbit For the First Time—With a Few Caveats

Someday, someone might make a movie about it. After major tech failures, public flip-flops, hours of implied dramatic arguments, and an early ending, Starship's first orbital flight was a success. Officially.
In reality, the whole affair didn't actually go that badly. Starship launched on Monday from the SpaceX facility in South Texas on a mission to prove that SpaceX's premier orbital technology can reach low Earth orbit (LEO). Starship looks to become a ubiquitous, fully reusable launch platform for the future, simultaneously economical enough to launch the next generation of orbital tech and powerful enough to carry astronauts to alien planets.
If it delivers on its promises of safety and rapid reuse, Starship could literally deliver.
