Sophos partners with OpenAI to bring frontier AI to cybersecurity channel

Sophos has partnered with OpenAI to bring OpenAI’s frontier models to managed service providers (MSPs) through Sophos Fusion, enabling partners to build new AI-powered security services.

The partnership will integrate OpenAI models into Sophos Fusion’s connected cyber defence architecture, which brings together endpoint, network, email, cloud, identity and security operations. Sophos said the approach will allow MSPs to use frontier AI within existing security workflows rather than deploying it as a separate tool.

The collaboration will also extend to Sophos AI Defense, which is available for early access in August 2026 and provides visibility and policy controls for AI and shadow AI usage across organisations.

Sophos said the partnership builds on its participation in the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, with the expanded collaboration focused specifically on MSPs and channel partners. Sophos has more than 25,000 partners, including over 7,000 MSPs.
