Soldered Electronics Aims to Deliver a Quick-Start Platform for OpenBMC Projects with the OmniMC
Soldered Electronics has unveiled a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) development board add-on designed as a "starter kit" for those looking to experiment with the OpenBMC open source baseboard management controller platform: the OmniMC Sensor Board, a Hardware Attached on Top (HAT)-format accessory for the Altera Agilex 3 or Agilex 5.
"OmniMC Sensor Board is the quickest way to get started designing your own custom chassis manager with OpenBMC," Soldered Electronics' David Zovko explains. "Your firmware team can get started developing with the included peripherals while the hardware team starts adding the custom features. Once you are familiar with the development environment, you can add additional sensors via the expansion connectors, or wire in your own sensors through the 40-pin [General Purpose Input/Output] header."
