SolarSquare Bags $53 Million to Expand Residential Solar Footprint Across India

India's residential solar market is attracting renewed investor attention as SolarSquare, the country's largest residential rooftop solar company, announced a $53 million Series C funding round led by B Capital.

Existing investors Lightspeed, Elevation Capital, Lowercarbon Capital, Rainmatter by Zerodha and Good Capital also participated in the round, taking SolarSquare's total capital raised to more than $100 million.

The Mumbai-based company said the fresh capital will be used to expand into new cities, strengthen its technology capabilities, hire talent and scale its platform as demand for residential rooftop solar accelerates across the country.

Founded in 2015 by Shreya Mishra, Neeraj Jain and Nikhil Nahar, SolarSquare has emerged as one of India's largest residential solar companies, having installed rooftop solar systems across approximately 50,000 homes. The company said it is currently operating at an annual revenue run rate of more than ₹1,000 crore.
