Social Sequencer II: When the Sun Hits

The first social sequencer project was a prototype that was meant to explore how emergence and data create uncontrolled complexity through simple motifs using social media data and emergence. Social sequencer 2 is a continuation of the theme of emergence and the original motif or meme.

A motif in this project relate to a series of sequence of new information that act as a unique string of sequence. This motif can serve as analogy of new motifs that drive systems which can be observed in other systems whether it be biological, technological or societal. Why is the question of motif of new information worth a question?

A motif allows us to ask if new information in systems is by chance, order or by design and how the new expression produces variants or new information. Variants are more common in natural systems while new information may relate to complexity. In evolutionary...
