Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity specialist Semtech has announced production of two new LoRa transceivers, the LR2012 and LR2022 ‒ part of the company's LoRa Plus range, alongside the earlier LR2021.

"With the LR2022 and LR2012 now in production, there is a LoRa Plus chip for multiple IoT applications — from sub-GHz sensor nodes to global multi-band trackers with satellite connectivity to edge AI [Artificial Intelligence] devices supporting multiple wireless protocols," claims Semtech's Shahar Feldman of the launch. "These devices share the same fourth-generation LoRa IP platform and Unified Software Platform, backed by a global ecosystem of more than 500 million deployed LoRa devices."
