SEMICON India 2026 to Be Inaugurated by PM Modi on September 17

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the fifth edition of SEMICON India on September 17 at Yashobhoomi, the India International Convention and Expo Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi. The launch kicks off a three-day gathering that will run through September 19, bringing together government officials, global chipmakers, investors, researchers, startups and students to take stock of how far the country’s semiconductor and electronics industry has come — and where it’s headed next.

A Growing Platform for a Growing Industry

This year’s conference carries the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” reflecting an effort to present India’s chip story as a full value chain rather than a single manufacturing push. The event is jointly organized by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and SEMI, the international trade association for the electronics manufacturing and design industry.
