Scientists Confirm First Direct Radio Signal Detected From Alien World

Scientists have detected direct, localized radio emissions from an exoplanet for the very first time. But don't call the Space Force and White House hotline just yet—these signals are not alien communications.

Centered on the young gas giant Beta Pictoris b roughly 64 light-years away, this latest discovery opens a fresh perspective into the magnetic field and internal dynamics of worlds orbiting distant stars. Astronomers have previously searched the skies for the faint radio crackle of extrasolar planets, hoping to measure their invisible magnetospheres.
