Say Goodbye to ChatGPT's Walls of Text
OpenAI is launching GPT-6 with Intelligent UI, a new format that lets ChatGPT respond to some questions with interactive layouts instead of just plain text. The company announced the update on October 7, saying responses can combine text, graphics, buttons, forms, charts, and interactive tools within a conversation. Gemini has the same, too; I am not sure when it was implemented, but it was there earlier this morning when I searched. All this in the free tier.
Intelligent UI reportedly chooses which interactive elements to supply based on the user's prompt. It can compare products or strategies side by side, explain a topic with a visual, or generate a tool like a calculator or bill splitter. Hopefully, this won't add complexity for complexity's sake, since the company says ChatGPT can still provide text-only answers when that's the clearest solution.
