SAP agrees to acquire Belgian AI workforce startup TechWolf

SAP has agreed to buy TechWolf, a Belgian company whose AI maps the skills and daily work of a firm’s employees. The two companies announced the deal today but did not disclose its terms.

The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval. Until then, the two companies will continue to operate separately.

TechWolf, based in Ghent, builds a continuously updated model of a company’s workforce from the HR and business systems it already uses.

The model covers three levels: the tasks within each job, the skills staff hold and apply, and the external labour market.

Companies then compare that picture with their business strategy to decide where to hire, retrain or move staff. TechWolf’s customers include HSBC, GSK, Ericsson, AMD, PayPal and Booking.com.
