Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 9 update, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S23 series. The release reaches the oldest Galaxy S flagships that still qualify for this major software upgrade.

Samsung launched One UI 9 on September 16, first on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series (where it was preinstalled) and the Galaxy S26 lineup, then extended it to older devices. With beta testing complete, Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra users in South Korea can now install the UI. Samsung hasn't published a global release schedule for the S23 series, so we're not sure exactly when the stable version of One UI 9 will hit North America, though South Korean updates tend to go global within a couple of weeks.
