Samsung Is Reportedly Planning 5 Foldables for 2027, Including an Extra-Wide Unit
Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to expand its foldable phone lineup to five models in 2027. According to the Korean outlet ETNews, one of these will be a new extra-wide unit with "a screen aspect ratio optimized for video viewing."
The lineup is expected to include:
- the Galaxy Z Fold 9,
- a second wide-format Fold model,
- the Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra,
- the Galaxy Z Flip 9 (surprising, because this year was expected to be its last)
- a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold.
The as-yet-unnamed wide model would join the regular Fold 9, which was earlier expected to be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. As with all leaks and rumors, however, nothing has been officially confirmed, including product names, screen sizes, and other details.
