Roku's New TV Channel Is 100% Dedicated to AI Slop
Roku has partnered with Fairground, an entertainment startup "at the meeting point of generative AI and premium streaming," to create Fairground AI Creator TV, a 24-hour channel dedicated to AI-generated content. It's now available through The Roku Channel's free, ad-supported live-TV service.
Fairground AI Creator TV will offer TV-14 shows, movies, and short videos generated by AI, Varietyreports. These will cover genres such as science fiction, drama, animation, true crime, and comedy. The channel is a scheduled stream, so viewers are subject to whatever is currently airing and can't select AI content on demand. Holidays like Halloween and Valentine's Day will feature themed programming.
Other streaming platforms will offer Fairground AI Creator TV, though Fairground founder and smart TV veteran Colin Petrie-Norris wouldn't tell Variety which ones, only that they're "the biggest."
