Researchers Argue Saturn's Moon Titan Is Perfect for Human Exploration

Boulder, Colorado, recently hosted the first-ever scientific convention specifically focused on the idea of setting human beings down on Titan, the increasingly well-studied moon of Saturn. Called the Humans to Titan Summit 2026, it started with the goal of legitimizing the idea, but the evidence it presented is compelling nonetheless.

When deciding the best candidate targets for crewed missions after Mars, NASA must take a number of factors into account. For instance, Venus is large, interesting, and quite close by, but it's also incredibly hazardous to the point of being impossible for humans to explore using existing technology. On the other hand, Pluto could be more survivable, but it's far away and, honestly, not that interesting in terms of composition.
