Freshworks went into its Refresh customer gathering in New York last week on the back of another good quarter of fiscal results, but also having announced it was laying off 11% of its workforce, with AI taking the blame for the cuts. It might not have been ideal timing in terms of morale on the eve of the conference, but CEO Dennis Woodside was on upbeat form at the gig nonetheless, albeit with one grip well to the fore it seems - that of lack of recognition about what it is that Freshworks actually does!
