RecompLauncher Brings Zelda, Sonic And Over 200 Console Ports To PC
Bolstered by AI, the gaming world has seen an explosion in the number of projects based on decompiled and recompiled binaries lately, and with the introduction of the new RecompLauncher, PC and even PS5 players eager for an all-in-one hub for these projects are in for a treat. The purpose of RecompLauncher, once the app is fully released, will be to streamline the often tedious install process for these projects as much as possible.
All an end user needs to do is provide their own legally-owned game files, and the upcoming beta RecompLauncher will automatically install the appropriate project for you while making it easily reachable from a controller UI, similar to Steam's Big Picture interface. For now, RecompLauncher is limited to a web version that only shares links to the devs' original GitHub releases, but otherwise still lists and ranks these projects by popularity.
