I still remember my first pair of Ray-Bans: the Original Wayfarer Classics with polished black frames and green lenses. Then, in middle school, when Aviators were all the rage, I convinced my mom to buy me a pair with gold metal frames and orange flash polarized lenses. Looking back, they were a bold choice for a 13-year-old girl, but I wore them everywhere. By my freshman year of college, I saved up for a pair of Round Metal sunglasses with rose gold frames and blue gradient lenses. They were the first sunglasses I ever bought with my own money, and more than a decade later, I still have them. Mind you, the lenses are covered in scratches, but I can’t bring myself to part with them.
