Raspberry Pi has announced yet another price hike for its popular Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi 5 families of single-board computers, as the artificial intelligence (AI) bubble continues to see demand for memory components far outstrip supply — though it's keeping the base 1GB RAM model at its current price, for now.
"Most of you will know by now that the cost of memory has risen very steeply over the past two years and continues to increase; like other companies, we have had to raise the prices of many of our products in order to keep up with the cost of production," says Raspberry Pi's Eben Upton in an announcement that echoes several others over the past year.
