Qualcomm Hints at Dual-Tier Flagship Strategy for Snapdragon 8 Elite

Qualcomm has officially confirmed that it will introduce two new Snapdragon 8 Elite processors at its upcoming Snapdragon Summit on September 22, signaling a pivot toward a multi-tier flagship strategy for mobile chipsets.

In a social media teaser using the taglines “Dual 8 Elites” and “When Two Changes the Game,” the company laid the groundwork for expanding its top-tier lineup. The upcoming launch is framed around the growth of agentic AI, enhanced connectivity, and significant upgrades to GPU architecture and gaming performance.

A Split Flagship Architecture

Industry reports suggest the processors will arrive as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.

While formal specifications have not been released, leaks indicate both models could share an eight-core CPU layout powered by custom Oryon cores built on a 2nm process node. However, graphics hardware and memory bandwidth are expected to serve as the primary differentiators:
