OptiValueTek, a technology and strategic advisory firm, has outlined a responsible AI framework for defence technology and critical infrastructure protection, emphasising human oversight, validated data and accountable decision-making in safety-critical environments.

Detailed in its strategic whitepaper, Responsible AI at the Edge of Consequence, the framework proposes safeguards to ensure AI-enabled systems operate within defined limits, with human intervention and independent safety controls guiding high-consequence decisions.

The initiative builds on OptiValueTek’s strategic expansion into AI, digital twins and defence technology, including its previously announced Integrated Counter-UAV Defence System (ICUDS) initiative and SENTINEL-DOME platform for critical infrastructure protection.

The whitepaper proposes a six-layer architecture covering mission requirements, data integrity, AI inference, decision authority, controlled execution and continuous assurance. It recommends testing AI systems against inaccurate sensor inputs, cyber threats, false alarms and connectivity failures before operational deployment.

For defence applications, the framework identifies equipment readiness, logistics management and security-event analysis as...
