OpenAI Launches GPT-6 Astra, Enters the AGI Era

In what company executives describe as a pivotal shift toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), OpenAI has officially launched its newest flagship AI model, GPT-6 Astra. Billed as the world’s most intelligent AI model to date, Astra marks a fundamental transition from conversational chatbots to autonomous agents capable of navigating real-world software, executing multi-step business operations, and tackling complex scientific and mathematical challenges.

A Generational Shift to Computer Use and Execution

Unlike earlier AI systems primarily trained to generate text or answer discrete prompts, GPT-6 Astra is built to act as a digital worker. The model features industry-leading computer-use capabilities that allow it to operate web browsers, manipulate spreadsheets, update CRM databases, generate code, run frontend quality assurance tests, and manage documents much like a human user.
